Harvest Boxes for Seniors

Pemberton Lions Club (MD19-A Pemberton BC)

When the pandemic worsened and out of concern for our seniors ( the most vulnerable) Paul Selina came up with the idea to improve nutrition and insulate our seniors from the possibility of rising food costs.

We had a plot of land donated, seeds, soil, bagged soil, tools, gloves etc. And most thankfully a lot of willing hands. For those who had a small deck or space we adopted out well over 100 tomato plants and approximately 150 seedlings.

Once a week Lions members get together for a work / harvest. This has been continuous since our early May planting. We are blessed with a multitude of talent and hard working people.

Today the Pemberton Lions Club had our first harvest for the garden dedicated to feed the Seniors in the area. We are so pleased to give back to the community
