Chilliwack Dogwood Monarch Lions (MD19-H6)
Chilliwack Dogwood Monarch Lions used funds generated by our on line bingo to purchase masks, gloves, hand sanitizers and disinfectant cleaning supplies. They were donated to several homeless shelters in our community as well as one for young men, to be handed out to all in need.
Our club members have also been busy assembling care packages for our homeless population that is in lockdown at the Travelodge due to Covid restrictions, These care packages include sanitizers, masks, snacks, cards etc.,
Our club purchased PPE supplies twice, the first donation included cleaning supplies and went to a local Alano club for alcohol and drug addiction, they had to close down, but as a much needed service, they were allowed to reopen if they had Covid protocols in place. They did not have a budget for the needed supplies, so our members shopped and we donated the supplies.
Our 2nd purchase of masks, gloves, sanitizers is handed out by shelter staff at an adult homeless shelter, and another one for teenage boys. They are handed out to anyone that will use them, whenever they are needed. You need to be masked inside the shelter, so they are much appreciated.
