Lynn Valley Strong – Flash Mob
A Beautiful Dance
The Lynn Valley Lions Club continues to be inspired by the actions of our community as we all work together to heal from the tragic events that took place March 27th. We have seen people from every age mourn together and take steps to show their support to the victims and to heal as a community together.
From placing flowers and candles at the memorial, to children drawing art, the candle light vigil, fundraisers, and more, we are in awe of the outpouring of love and strength of our community.
We were especially proud of long time Lynn Valley resident, Nicole Byrom who wanted to do something to help heal the community during a time where we cannot gather and provide solace in person. Nicole is married to Captain Chris Byrom of the North Vancouver Fire Rescue Services and their children are in dance. She decided to organize a flash mob dance choregraphed by Principal and Artist Director of RNB Dance, Hayley Walker and set the dance to the music of a local singer, Trevor Guthrie. The idea was that the dance could be shared via youtube and social media channels. Nicole first convinced the local firefighters to participate and then other groups quickly agreed as well.
We were honored to be one of the groups that Nicole reached out to! It was beautiful to be a part of the process and to see the final video.
Thank you Nicole for organizing such a wonderful tribute. Thank you for your efforts in reclaiming the Lynn Valley Library Square as a safe space. Citizens like you make us all proud to be part of our beautiful community. We will continue standing as one. #lynnvalleystrong
